Robin Jankiewicz

BA WHITMAN COLLEGE TEACHING CREDENTIAL CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE

Born in Oakland, Robin Jankiewicz grew up in Santa Barbara, CA and has been teaching for over twenty years. Though her years have been spent mostly in fourth grade, she also has experience teaching second, and third grades, as well as middle school.

When Ms. Jankiewicz started teaching, her entire cohort was introduced to “Brain Compatible Teaching Strategies.” She endorses a Growth Mindset because research proves our brains are much more elastic and “growable” than we used to believe.

She also knows that routine, novelty, and communication with other students helps fourth graders achieve better progress. Besides, “it’s more fun that way!” she says.

Ms. Jankiewicz enjoys writing, and she spends summers working for Adventures in Writing Summer Camp where every camper writes, illustrates, and publishes a story in ten days. Some of her own stories were published in Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Ms. Jankiewicz loves dogs, particularly her Jack Russell, Sample.
