Prayers

Prayer is an important part of our day here at Good Shepherd. Below are the prayers we recite every day at school to begin our day and to bless the food we eat. Always, ALWAYS give thanks!!


MORNING ASSEMBLY

“Please place your left hand at your side and your right hand over your heart as we stand and salute the cross of Christ and the flag of our country.”


Salute to the Cross

"I pledge allegiance, to the cross of Christ and to the church for which it stands, One Holy and apostolic Church, with grace and salvation for all."


Salute to The Flag

"I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible and with justice for all."


MORNING OFFERING

"O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary I offer you my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day. In union with the Holy Sacrifice, of the Mass through out the world. I offer them for all the intentions of the Sacred Heart, the salvations of souls reparation for sins, in reunion of all Christians. I offer them for all the intentions of our bishops and of all the Apostles of prayer and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month."


LUNCHTIME

"Bless us oh Lord, in these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord, Amen."

NOON PRAYERS

The Angelus

V/. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R/. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

 

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you;
blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

V/. Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
R/. Be it done unto me according to your Word.

V/. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
R/. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
 

Let us pray. Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord, your grace into our hearts: that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let us pray
O God, Who by the Resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, hast been pleased to give joy to the whole world, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may attain the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
